Dewberry is currently searching for a highly qualified mid-level Disaster Recovery Specialist to join our team in Fairfax, VA. Responsibilites include managing and executing disaster related projects funded with grants awarded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Development Block Grant Disaster Relief (CDBG-DR) program.
In particular, we are seeking individuals who have experience with this program to:
- Provide grants management/strategic technical assistance to state/local governments on HUD, FEMA, DOT, and other funding program activities Monitor and coordinate progress on various grant activities, advocate for our clients, and while work collaboratively with various levels of governmentConduct inspections, technical evaluations, develop estimates, prepare grant applications,Manage and provide the required project documentation, reporting and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
- Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Planning, Business Administration, Finance, Public Administration/Policy or other pertinent technical fieldMust have a minimum of five (5) years of related experiencePrior experience with CDBG-DR Program, Public Assistance, or Hazard Mitigation Grant Program is strongly preferredMust have strong organizational, analytical skills and attention to detailExcellent verbal communication and technical writing skillsProficient in use of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Power Point, and AccessValid driver’s license requiredAbility to commit to 6-12 month assignments in remote locations working in excess of 50 hours per weekMust be a U.S. Citizen and able to successfully pass Federal background investigation, to include financial and criminal history.
