Supporting the Most Exciting and Meaningful Missions in the WorldClaims Processing CoordinatorTHIS IS AN SCA POSITION WITH AN HOURLY RATE OF $26.47GeneralThe September 11th Victim Compensation Fund ("VCF") was created to provide compensation for any individual (or a personal representative of a deceased individual) who suffered physical harm or was killed as a result of the terrorist-related aircraft crashes of September 11, 2001 or the debris removal efforts that took place in the immediate aftermath of those crashes. The original VCF operated from 2001-2004. On January 2, 2011, President Obama signed into law the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act of 2010 (Zadroga Act) that reactivated the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund in October 2011. On December 18, 2015, President Obama signed into law a bill reauthorizing the Act and extending the Fund for five years. More information about the VCF can be found at https://www.vcf.gov/.The VCF is embarking on an exciting initiative to support its claim review process. The Claim Review Support Team will work with VCF and claim review leadership to support all aspects of claim review team work with a particular emphasis on claim and data management, claim assessment, knowledge management and training coordination. Working closely with respective claim review team leads and supervisors and, under the supervision of the Claims Processing Supervisor, the Claims Processing Coordinator will perform reporting, claim tracking and assignment, decision entry and special projects for the Claim Review teams while complying with established VCF Standard Operating Procedures. Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe Claims Processing Coordinator responsibilities include:Reporting: Work with the data management team to generate reports that support team and individual accountability.Claim Tracking: Work with the Special Master and the data management team to track priority lists for the Claim Review teams. Tracks team claims to ensure proper claim movement and assignment, including using anomaly and other reports to identify claims needing attention.Claim Assignment: Assign claims to and uses reports to ascertain capacity of individual reviewers and small teams.Quality Review Follow-up: Coordinates follow-up/issue resolution between claim review teams and the Quality Review team.Decision Entry: Coordinate the assignments for the claims to be decided and entered. Performs determination administrative checks and enters final approved decisions by the Special Master and her designees, including completing administrative checks prior to entry.Special Projects: Work on special projects as assigned, focusing on data and/or claim review and coordination. Examples include tracking appeals in conjunction with the hearings team, assisting in the tracking of NIOSH disability evaluation requests, coordinating with NIOSH on private physician verifications, tracking of Congressional interest or other claims with unique circumstances, and other projects as needed.CompetenciesExperienced analyzing large volumes of data and manipulating data to produce desired counts, statistics, and other outputs.Experienced producing a variety of reports (type, format, etc.) that reflect an understanding of the "audience"/users of the reports.Understands tasks, task objectives and the context of those tasks in the claim review lifecycle.Has a collaborative nature and is comfortable coordinating across teams and with various managers, supervisors, and team members.Comfortable working in an environment with high volume inputs, outputs, and deadlinesPassionate about attention to detail, deadlines and work quality.Highly organized, able to multi-task, prioritizes tasks and consistently and accurately performs detailed work under pressure without compromising quality.Proactively identifies issues that impact claim review coordination and proposes alternate solutions to address issues.Has excellent typing/keyboarding skills and written and oral communication capabilities.QualificationsMust be a US Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a Security ClearanceBachelor's degree in a field such as Business, Accounting, Data Management or Statistics with a minimum of 3 years' related experienceHeld positions such as Data Analyst, Accounting ClerkProficient with MS Excel (intermediate user or higher), MS Access, and other Microsoft Office suite productsExperience in claim management or processing environmentsExperience in government programs or litigation support preferredReporting RelationshipsReports to the Claims Processing SupervisorPAE is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
