Level of Travel: Medium; Domestic & InternationalThe Global Product Manager is responsible for managing the assigned product range throughout the product life cycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, supporting product vision, and working closely with engineering, manufacturing, finance, regulatory, and quality to deliver successful products. Keys to the role include supporting Customer Service and the Field Sales Team to ensure technical product questions are delivered accurately and on time. The Product Manager's job also includes ensuring that the product and marketing efforts support the company's overall strategic objectives, direct profit requirements and product line initiatives. The position reports into the Global Director of Product Management. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Responsible for following product line: Air Supplied including Self Contained Breathing Apparatus, Supplied Air Respirators, Combination Respirators, Thermal Imaging Cameras and Accountability products. * Market Segments: Primary - First Responders and Secondary - Industrial Safety * Define global and regional product specifications/ feature/functionality roadmap and packaging based on customer and market insight for assigned product category. * Support Customer Service team by acting as technical support lead for customer related questions or requirements, through the development and maintenance of various technical marketing and educational collateral, technical FAQs, product notes, user guides, field training presentations, online marketing content and demos. * Manage, develop and strengthen communication channels between sites to ensure consistent transfer of information, regional product requirements and timely responses related to protection product portfolio. * Establishes and maintains hands-on, in-depth knowledge of competitors including business model and products. Maintains technical analysis of competitive strengths and weaknesses. * Develops, communicates and manages the prioritization of related SCBA's, Thermal Imaging and Accountability products including providing Business Case Documents (ie MRD's, PIPOs) describing the product definition, Voice of Customer (VOC), Voice of Business (VOB) market potential and return on investment. * Establishes schedules and manages the Product Launch of new products into the marketplace, developing all product collateral, pricing structures and preparing product samples while working with the Marketing, Advertising and Tradeshow teams. * Works closely with the Customer Experience team. * Coordinates beta testing of new products and features. Documents and report problems and recommend solutions / improvements to Engineering managers. Participates in product performance benchmarking activities. * Participate to define program/project objectives, prepare business case analysis, advise and participate in NPI gateway process evaluation and decisions. * Prepare and conduct presentations to customers, partners, and internal management as required. * Define, drive and manage product changes (incl. configuration maintenance). * Specifying market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and non-customers. * Participate in the definition and execution of downstream product marketing strategy, initially specific products into traditional military and commercial markets. * Define global and regional product positioning, collateral and messaging for assigned product category, support sales management/field sales by providing training on products, feature/benefit opportunities. * Manage and support product related internal and external events. * Generate and manage product volume forecast as well as end-of-life projections. * Generate and monitor business data to analyze product performance (volume, units, margin, configurations, quality), Assist in driving global product profitability. * Work with Sales, R&D and Manufacturing to develop aggressive timelines for new product development and market release. Run beta and pilot programs with early-stage products and samples.* Bachelor's degree required (Business Administration or Marketing preferred) or related professional work experience. Master's degree a plus. * Minimum of 3 years' experience of safety/health, first responder, industrial or military products. * Experience managing technical products, from development through launch. * Demonstrated success defining and launching excellent products. * Excellent teamwork skills. * Demonstrated ability to meet or beat assigned targets and deadlines consistently. * Experience with cross-functional teams that include engineering, manufacturing, regulatory, sales, and marketing staff. * Excellent written and oral communication skills including presentation experience to large and diverse audiences. * Seasoned experience using Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
