Position Overview:Facility Engineers provide professional engineering services in support of facility management, maintenance, and operation. They interact with other contractors, government personnel, vendors, and other NGA personnel to coordinate and accomplish major facility improvements and alterations, as well as oversee and support facilities operations. Individuals hired for this position will support NGA facility operations primarily CONUS with the potential for performance in the CENTCOM AOR. The selectee(s) hired for this position will be responsible for preparing and monitoring construction and maintenance projects in support of NGA's operations. Duties will include developing and implementing various engineering plans, specifications, cost estimates and designs for operations, maintenance and support requirement to maintain NGA facilities. Specific duties include directing/conducting studies involving multi-disciplinary engineering programs for facility modifications, operation and maintenance, and construction; conducting engineering studies related to developing specialized facilities with unique standards; validating instructions for facility operations, maintenance, and repairs. Strong verbal and written communication abilities; understanding of DoD engineering procedures and policies; ability to analyze organizational and operational problems including resolution analysis; strong leadership skills, including leading multidisciplinary teams; strong multi-tasking skills are also necessary for this support1. Oversees facilities functions, including task coordination, vendor contract review, maintenance, etc.2. Oversees office moves, general maintenance, and other facilities functions, including preparing cost estimates, bid sheets, layouts, and contracts for construction and requisitions.3. Supervises and directs the work of assigned facilities support staff, which may include subordinate managers.4. Ensures compliance with company and government regulations related to safety, environmental issues, and/or recycling efforts.5. Reviews and develops policies and procedures to make the facilities function more effective and more efficient.6. Performs financial review of function, including expenditures, allocation of facility costs, rent approval, etc.7. Responds to questions and problems related to facilities.8. Serves as point of contact for corporate insurance, including responding to questions, maintaining certificates of insurance and completing applications and qualification information claims.9. Coordinates building space allocation, layout and communication.10.
