The Staff Accountant will be responsible for preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. In addition, you will participate in compliance, review schedules for the reporting processes, and work alongside our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. Major responsibilities - Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll - Conduct month end close, journal entries, without supervision - Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation - Be responsible for analysis of income statements and balance sheets and communicate findings to management - Participate in various department-wide initiatives - Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation - Aid in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls under SOX and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP - Report on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner - Manage capital lease and monthly payment schedules- Proven analytical skills - defining problems, collecting relevant data, drawing valid conclusions, and recommending improvement/corrective actions - Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment - Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks - Experience with billing - Strong familiarity with account reconciliation - Accounts receivable experience preferred - Adeptness in Microsoft Excel - Foundational knowledge in journal entries - Accounts payable experience - Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities - 2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience - BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics - Knowledgeable of ERP systems - Mature organizational, written and verbal communication skills - Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases - Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines - Proficient with spreadsheets and databasesAccountemps matches highly skilled professionals with accounting finance jobs at the best companies on a temporary and temporary-to-hire basis.
