JOB SUMMARY POSITION SUMMARY A senior level biller who is responsible for reviewing, editing, preparing, and submitting invoices in accordance with firm and client guidelines for each assigned office. KEY RELATIONSHIPS Internally, responsible for communicating with timekeepers, other local billing groups, firmwide Accounting/Finance, legal secretaries, and administrative support staff. Externally, responsible for working with vendors and responding to client inquiries. ESSENTIAL DUTIES * Work as the liaison between their assigned billing attorneys and the billing department in a fast-paced accounting department and will be responsible for billing for US and foreign patents and trademark clients. * Generating proformas, editing, finalizing invoices, and generating related billing reports. * Coordinate all functions related to e-billing which include utilizing the e-billing software to upload and correct rejected invoices. * Coordinate the matter ID and/or rates. Should be able to work independently and also a team worker. EXPERIENCE * At least 5 years of legal IP billing experience and the ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of the US and foreign patent and trademark process a must. * E-billing software experience is required. * Elite Enterprise software is strongly preferred. * Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills * Ability to work with the billing attorneys and their assistants. ADDITIONAL DUTIES * Coordinate with internal clients to ensure proper format setup for new clients * Coordinate special projects as assigned by supervisor and/or lawyers EXPERIENCE SKILLS REQUIRED * High School Diploma or equivalent * Experience working with clients, vendors, and/or customers * Working knowledge of MS Office, especially MS Excel * Prior experience in a billing or accounting department working with an automated accounting or billing system * Prior experience coordinating an entire billing cycle * Ability to maintain confidentiality of all firm- and client-related information * Ability to multi-task, work independently, work under pressure, and handle interruptions while maintaining flexibility in work assignments * Ability to communicate effectively and interact with diverse personalities while maintaining a professional attitude * Ability to ensure a high level of accuracy and attention to detail on all assignments ADDITIONAL ABILITIES REQUIRED * Frequent overtime required * This job operates in an office setting and is largely sedentary, requiring the routine use of a computer and other standard office equipment.
