  • This position is a Full Performance Level DCIPS position. DCIPS Full Performance Level positions include GG-11/12. The NRO is accepting applications from current GS/GG-11 and GS/GG-12, or equivalent Federal Government employees for this position. Federal government employees, who are currently at a GS/GG-11, GS/GG/12, or equivalent may ONLY apply for a lateral reassignment at their current grade level, and step. Those selected at the GS/GG-11 grade level may then be considered for future competitive promotion under the NRO Internal promotion evaluation process.

    Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Experience must be reflected in your resume.

    Specialized experience required for this position is:

    For the GG-11
    1. Employs the principles, strategies, elements, techniques and processes of public affairs to internal and external communication.
    2. Knowledge of DoD and Intelligence Community organizations, missions, relevant policies for management of DoD/IC Records Management and Freedom of Information Act/Privacy Act Programs.
    3. Reviews content and format of unclassified public websites and social media
    4. Assists in the development and procurement up-to-date materials (graphics, displays, multimedia artifact, information handouts and educational items) for agency public relations, public outreach and event planning.
    5. Prepares communications and logistical support for agency events and exhibits.
    6. Reviews format and content of publications and communications products for news releases, feature articles, pamphlets and fact sheets.
    For the GG-12
    1. Applies the principles, strategies, elements, techniques and processes of public affairs to internal and external communication.
    2. Utilizes knowledge of DoD and Intelligence Community organizations, missions, relevant policies for management of DoD/IC Records Management and Freedom of Information Act/Privacy Act Programs.
    3. Oversees the content and format of unclassified public websites and social media
