You must have IT related experience that includes activities such as planning, developing, and carrying out broad and extensive assignments leading to recommendations for realigning IT responsibilities or other equally significant changes in IT programs on a long-term or continuing basis. Experience must demonstrate each of the four competencies which include: 1) Conducting systems security evaluations, audits, and reviews. (Attention to Detail); 2) Recognizing and evaluating the needs of subscribers to the local area network/communications network. (Customer Service); 3) Gaining compliance with established policies and regulations by persuasion or negotiation and coordinating, communicating and integrating IT projects/program activities. (Oral Communication); and 4) Maintaining and isolating troubles associated with various network/telecommunications equipment. (Problem Solving);
In addition, you must have at least one year of full-time specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to at least the GS-13 level in the Federal Service (obtained in either the public or private sector). This experience must include activities that have required utilizing IT/ cybersecurity program management and project management principles and techniques and IT/cybersecurity systems engineering principles in performing the following types of tasks: conducting systems security evaluations, audits, and reviews in order to develop or modify IT security systems to meet user network and cybersecurity requirements; monitoring network security performance to resolve problems; analyzing system vulnerabilities; managing an IT program to include providing oversight of multiple IT projects, integrating dependent schedules and deliverables, and related activities (for example, benefits management, life cycle management, program governance.
