Graduate Assistant 1/3 Research and Graduate Education
â€¢Assists in creating newsletters and informational materials for faculty about research activities.
â€¢Assist in overhauling and updating the â€˜Discover researchâ€™ webpage on the MU website and the graduate studies page;
â€¢Research topics, as assigned, for background information to support grant proposal preparation and or graduate program development activities;
â€¢Help with logistics for various research events on campus.
A 1/3 Graduate Assistant works 105 hours total each semester of the assistantship (which averages 7 hours/week in a typical 15 week semester); and receives a waiver of three (3) credits of graduate tuition each semester of the assistantship.
â€¢You must be accepted into Marymount as a graduate student
â€¢You must be registered for at least 6 graduate credits during any semester in which you are awarded a GA position.
â€¢For current students, graduate GPA must be at least 3.0. For entering graduate students, undergraduate GPA must be at least 3.0.
â€¢Familiar with webpage design and editing.
â€¢Experience and established skill seeking out and identifying credible and defensible evidence to support the need to pursue a topic.
â€¢Excellent writing and proofreading skills
â€¢Strong skills in time management, managing multiple projects, and attention to detail
â€¢Students enrolled full-time are given preference over part-time.
â€¢Initiative and ability to work independently, including creative problem solving.
â€¢Good computer skills (word, excel, powerpoint).
â€¢Excellent attention to detail.
