Responsibilities

•Assists in creating newsletters and informational materials for faculty about research activities.
•Assist in overhauling and updating the ‘Discover research’ webpage on the MU website and the graduate studies page;
•Research topics, as assigned, for background information to support grant proposal preparation and or graduate program development activities;
•Help with logistics for various research events on campus.
A 1/3 Graduate Assistant works 105 hours total each semester of the assistantship (which averages 7 hours/week in a typical 15 week semester); and receives a waiver of three (3) credits of graduate tuition each semester of the assistantship.

Minimum Qualifications

•You must be accepted into Marymount as a graduate student
•You must be registered for at least 6 graduate credits during any semester in which you are awarded a GA position.
•For current students, graduate GPA must be at least 3.0. For entering graduate students, undergraduate GPA must be at least 3.0.
•Familiar with webpage design and editing.
•Experience and established skill seeking out and identifying credible and defensible evidence to support the need to pursue a topic.
•Excellent writing and proofreading skills
•Strong skills in time management, managing multiple projects, and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

•Students enrolled full-time are given preference over part-time.
•Initiative and ability to work independently, including creative problem solving.
•Good computer skills (word, excel, powerpoint).
•Excellent attention to detail.
