COORDINATOR FOR AQUATIC PROGRAMS

COORDINATOR FOR AQUATIC PROGRAMS (Exempt Staff #117408)
POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Coordinator, Aquatic Programs is a full-time, professional exempt staff position with full benefits. The position will have responsibility for the administration and staffing of the University Recreation & Wellness Learn to Swim program as well as provide support for aquatic events. This position works in conjunction with, aquatic professional staff to develop and manage risk and safety protocols for the aquatics area, and staff events as needed. Aquatic program assessment and evaluation, purchasing of program equipment and supplies, and collaboration with department and campus partners to support existing and new aquatic programs also fall under the purview of this individual. Teaching Aquatic courses for the Kinesiology Department are also required for this position.
QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must have, as a minimum: Bachelor’s degree, one (1) year of experience delivering aquatic programs, including instructional programs, current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) or equivalent certification, and strong communication and customer service skills. Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree, current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Trainer (WSIT) certification, an American Red Cross First Aid/CPR Instructor certification, experience with Electronic Timing Systems, experience teaching undergraduate classes, and experience using Daxko Spectrum software or comparable
START DATE: October 1, 2018, preferred.
SALARY: Commensurate with education and experience, the range is $48,000 - $58,000
BENEFITS: 22 days annual leave, 14 paid holidays, 3 days personal leave, 15 days sick leave; University contributions to health insurance and retirement plans; tuition remission.
