Candidates must have a Ph.D. or Ed.D. degree in a relevant field, such as education research, evaluation, social science, statistics, or another STEM discipline, plus six or more years after award of the Ph.D. or Ed.D. of successful research, research administration and/or managerial experience pertinent to the position.

  1. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in research, development or outreach related to participation in STEM education or careers for underserved populations or for minority serving institutions.
  2. Demonstrated knowledge of issues involved in pre-k 12 STEM education and STEM education research and development in formal or informal learning environments.
  3. Leadership in managing a complex program involving review of research and development proposals or manuscripts for publication in peer reviewed journals.
  4. Demonstrated knowledge of educational research methodologies as evidenced by courses, experience or publications
  5. Demonstrated knowledge of issues of scaling and organizational change in relation to broadening participation in STEM.
