Patent Specialist

DC firm with a growing practice is seeking a Patent Specialist to provide support to attorneys and clients for all patent prosecution activities, which include: docket and file new applications; prepare e-filing of IDS, prepare Declarations and Substitute Statement, and client correspondence.

A college degree is preferred with a minimum of three years of relevant work experience.  Fluency with Japanese (speaking, reading, and writing) is a plus.  Candidate needs to be able to work independently and as a collaborative team member in a fast paced environment with changing priorities.  Candidate should have knowledge of federal rules, regulations, and U.S. and international IP law (37 C.F.R., MPEP, PCT regulations).  Proficiency with IP docketing software (Inprotech), USPTO online resources (PAIR, EFS-Web, EPAS) and other patent-related websites is required.  Some OT may be required.  Hours are 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.  Firm offers competitive salaries and a generous benefits package.
