About the Economic Club

The Economic Club of Washington, D.C. is a nonprofit membership organization that provides an important speaking forum for prominent business and government leaders to express their views on the most important economic and public policy issues of the day. The Economic Club is comprised of nearly 800 business leaders from the Washington metropolitan region.

 

Position Responsibilities and Duties

  • Manages the registration process for all events including:
    • Serving as liaison with the online registration software (Cvent)
    • Preparing & distributing event announcements and invitations
    • Tracking registration responses and preparing weekly attendance updates
    • Sending event reminders and confirmations to attendees
    • Coordinating and assisting in the creation of name badges and assignment of event seating
    • Coordinating the registration process at events and staffing the registration table
    • Providing support to Senior Event Manager during all events
    • Creating final attendance and financial reports after each event; reconciling guest and member registration payments
    • Invoicing and collecting outstanding payments
  • Answers the phone and acts as the first point of contact for members calling the Economic Club
  • Assists the Membership Services Coordinator with membership related research and tasks
  • Maintains event and office supplies

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, with an interest working in the meeting and event management field
  • Flexible schedule- early morning, evening, and/or weekend hours may be required around events
  • Professional and comfortable dealing with high-level executives
  • Detail oriented and proficient in multi-tasking; able to work on multiple projects and events simultaneously
  • Team player in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
