The Defense and Intelligence Group at Leidos has an opening for an experienced systems engineer to provide technical expertise and leadership as an Associate Chief Engineer at our Gaithersburg, MD office. A successful candidate for this position will provide skills and knowledge to help adapt and sustain two dozen software applications. Responsibilities Include: . Manage complexity and priorities (with 21 systems there is always something going on, need to be able to flip between issues and complex problems and understand priorities and customer/mission needs) . Previous experience developing and implementing technical roadmap strategy is essential in this role . Strong leader, someone that can lead a team of ~10-12 systems engineers . Chairing Engineering Review Boards (ERB) . Coordination of resources across multiple scrum teams . Provide technical input to technical roadmap . Coordinate and retirement activities for legacy systems . Demonstrated proven success working with Enterprise Architectures and a technical leadership role that is customer facing . Ability to work with government customers and product owners, understand needs and requirements and how they fit into the capacity and sustainment model . Strategic planning, looking ahead to the retirement and future posture of capabilities and driving progress in that direction, . Be a self-starter and work independently . Ability to research and solve complex problems . Geospatial domain experience (imagery analysis, geospatial analysis, COTS integration) . Proposal experience a plus, Requires BS degree and 12 - 15 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 10 - 13 years of prior relevant experience. May possess a Doctorate in technical domain.
