Leidos is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Chief Engineer, in support of the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) - Information Technology (IT) program., ACE-IT provides direct on-site command and control, coordination, planning, and operations and maintenance support for routine and emergency IT services. Leidos is actively seeking personnel to support USACE headquarters locations in Washington, DC; Vicksburg, MS; Huntsville, AL; and Hillsboro, OR; across other USACE locations; and virtual positions. The Chief Engineer will provide comprehensive systems engineering and technology oversight, analytical, and technical support services required to deliver a broad range of innovative, next-generation IT solutions and professional services to modernize USACE/ACE-IT legacy systems, protect their networks and assets, and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of mission-critical functions. The Chief Engineer is responsible for driving technical execution on the program., * Develop customer technical responses and will review technical deliverables developed by other team members * Translate customer technology strategies and goals into program objectives * Interface directly with the customer's Chief Technology Officer * Chair the program's Engineering Review Board * Prepare weekly technical status reports, support proposals and other new business activities * Serve as principle IT engineer to provide engineering expertise and guidance for the design, development, and implementation of various IT solutions. * Provide technical expertise and analysis support of current USACE infrastructure and communications architectures, systems, and related cyber initiatives. * Lead the research, analysis, solution design and implementation planning of IT solutions for the modernization of legacy USACE systems and networks. * Drive strategic technological innovation, demonstrating a breadth and depth of knowledge in all things related to a complex, matrixed Information Technology operation in support of the USACE enterprise. * Provide technical knowledge and analysis of high-level functional systems analysis, design, and integration advice on complex matters that require expert level knowledge of the subject matter for effective implementation * Experience as an IT systems engineer * Experience in delivering and operating IT solutions in a large enterprise Project management experience * Excellent written and verbal communications skills with the ability to clearly articulate technical messages for a variety of audiences * Ability to multitask and juggle numerous priorities in a fast-paced environment. * Broad technical background spanning many of the technical areas supported by the program. * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent with 10-12+ years of experience with engineering and architecting enterprise IT solutions. * Demonstrated expertise in systems engineering, including requirements analysis and system architecture design. * Demonstrated experience designing and implementing complex IT solutions in a large scale enterprise. * Demonstrated experience in practical application of life-cycle system engineering for IT infrastructure. * Demonstrated experience designing and modernizing complex enterprise networks and legacy IT systems * Demonstrated experience applying System Engineering Lifecycle (SELC) processes and best practices comprising concept development, requirements engineering, architecture, design and development, integration, test and evaluation, and operations and maintenance. * Top Secret Clearance, * Master's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or equivalent
