IT Solutions Architect/Data Management Technical Lead - Relocate to Richmond, VA
Position Summary Involves technology-based analysis of business practices, processes and problems; developing solutions which involve process design, data and information architecture, software development and policy or procedural changes; creating specifications for systems to meet requirements; validating requirements against needs; designing details of automated systems; planning and executing unit integration and end-user acceptance testing; may develop training materials for system implementation. Manage and lead group of ETL/Data Engineer professionals to solve complex business or systems issues. Under the general supervision of the Sr Manager, the Data Warehouse Technical will lead a contractor team of ETL/Data Engineering professionals and manages architecture ,design and development and support of data warehouse and data engineering applications. Key Responsibilities * Act as a hands-on technical lead of the data warehouse team to ensure all objectives are met * Manage and lead small team of ETL /Data Engineering professionals * Act as a team lead to design, develop, document, test and maintain ET, Data Warehousing and Data Engineering applications and processes * Develop and maintain data warehouse and data engineering capabilities for reporting and analysis * Work with Production Support /Run the Shop IT Partner vendor team and provide directions and assistance. * Should able to work Hands On and code if needed. * Interact closely with various functional and cross -functional, business intelligence and data analytics team to determine reporting needs and translate those needs into the Data Warehouse Data Model and ETL processing * Develop and Document all ETL/Data pipeline and processes according to the Best Practices * Responsible for building and maintaining design standards and best practices and ensure to adhere these standards * Promote and Drive Data Management Strategy with the help of offshore IT Vendor. * Evaluates and recommends unique hardware /software configurations; defines special hardware/software requirements, capacities, capabilities, etc. to meet user needs while adhering to technical standards Basic Qualifications * Proficient in Data warehousing theory, practice and combined with strong hands-on experience in data warehousing and data architecture * Proficiency in data warehousing tools and database systems (for example: Oracle, Greenplum, Hadoop, Informatica and Unix) * Solid understanding of data * Excellent analytical abilities * 8-10 or more years of experience in a data warehousing environment * Solid 4 or more years of building and supporting ETL/Data Integration applications * 2 + years of strong experience is data architecture and data modeling * Hands-on experience in managing and delivering high performance ETL solutions * Minimum 5-6 years of experience with an emphasis on Informatica, Unix and Oracle. * Proficient in SQL and Database Design and SQL Tuning. * Strong Unix Shell Scripting knowledge along with sufficient experience in any Enterprise Scheduling tool. * Must have multiple full lifecycle project experience in developing ETL solutions. * Excellent communication and collaboration skills. * Strategic and tactical thinking. * Strong focus on providing service to the customer. * Out of the box thinking; Flexible / Critical thinking skills a must. * Able to sell concepts and designs / benefits to multiple audiences.
