Overview An upscale condominium in the heart of downtown Clarendon in Arlington, VA, seeks a motivated, experienced, and charismatic general property manager to oversee our dynamic building of 400+ residential units. Our condominium strives to provide residents with an extraordinary living experience and maintain our brand as one of the premier buildings in Arlington. As our general manager, you will oversee the facilities, operational, financial, and residential community experience. This is a great opportunity to highlight and enhance leadership skills by supervising engineering, housekeeping, reception, and security staff. You will work directly with our resident Board of Directors (BOD) to maintain the building and implement projects to modernize and enhance the resident experience. The ideal candidate will be a positive leader who motivates staff, contractors, and condominium stakeholders toward a new standard in providing excellent customer service to the entire community. This candidate will set us on a proactive path to positive and open communication with all residents of the Clarendon 1021 community. This candidate will review and establish schedules for building maintenance, such as carpet cleaning, identify cost-effective solutions to inefficient areas, such as package receipt and processing, and work with the BOD to cost-effectively modernize and enhance the building. Responsibilities: Operational Supervise, lead, hire and direct staff and contract personnel, including the Assistant General Manager and Building Engineer Work closely with partners and vendors, including the property management support contractor Oversee the operational and financial performance of the building Oversee capital improvement / reserve projects Create and manage the annual budget Review and prepare monthly financial and operational reports Demonstrate mastery of condominium laws, regulations, state and county code, knowing building bylaws and policy resolutions vary from community to community Manage building move-ins / move-outs, in-unit service requests, and collecting assessments Manage resident compliance to include owners and renter Responsibilities: Leadership and Communication Communicate proactively with residents on building matters Develop and encourage a customer focused experience for residents Demonstrate tactful judgement in challenging situations Engage with the Clarendon 1021 community by walking the property and interacting with residents Demonstrate an environment of transparency, respecting resident privacy Responsibilities: Brand Management and Service Excellence Establish and maintain a visually appealing building with brand recognition as a premier Arlington property with best-in-class service Facilitate social events among the Clarendon 1021 community Establish a connection with the surrounding neighborhood to include partnerships and resident discount programs, for example.
