Job Description Office Engineer / Assistant RE Louis Berger US is currently seeking an Office Engineer / Assistant Resident Engineer for DDOT Projects. Under the guidance and direction of the Resident Engineer / Construction Manager, The office Engineer / Assistant RE is responsible for the technical and administrative areas of the project. Candidate should be familiar with DDOT document control requirements, as well as roadway and bridge construction practices and procedures. This position will require the candidate to perform inspections as needed to support schedule requirements, as well as assist the Resident Engineer in a variety of assigned tasks. Responsibilities: Set up and maintain an organized and efficient file management system Develop a list of submittals for the project; receive and distribute submittals for review; and expedite review and timely return to the Contractor as required by the contract. Receive and process all requests for information and changes and ensure that the response process is as required by the contract. Maintain project logs (Submittals, requests for information, change requests) and attach updated logs to the meeting minutes. Maintain all records of testing, certification and all other quantity records. The OE shall notify the RE of quantity/testing issues and shall monitor and document resolutions. Coordinate with contractors staff, communicate effectively with all parties and good interpersonal skills Review inspectors reports, maintain records of all quantities, changes, and payments made and continuously reconcile quantities and payments with the contract documents. Receive and check payment applications and all supporting documents, and expedite timely processing of payment applications. Attend Progress Meetings and provide minutes in accordance with procedures. Proficient in applying standard testing techniques and procedures for the verification of material Able to read and interpret complex plans, specifications, and shop drawings. Required Experience Basic Qualifications: BS Civil Engineering plus 2 years of construction related Experience (High School Diploma plus 5 years construction related experience ) Proficient use of Microsoft Word and Excel Familiarity with electronic file management systems; Experience using SharePoint, FieldManager, FieldBook, and ProjectWise preferred Experience working on DDOT projects as an Office Engineer required.
