Reingold, a full-service marketing and communications firm in Alexandria, Virginia, offers an outstanding opportunity for a super-sharp proposal manager to coordinate the development and submission of proposals for federal and nonprofit clients. We need a smart, organized, obsessively conscientious administrator and writer with at least three years experience in federal contracting and procurement, preferably on behalf of a professional services firm. Experience in producing proposals for communications and marketing contracts is a plus. Every month, Reingold responds to 1020 requests for proposals (RFPs) for contracted projects. Requests range from 100-page federal RFPs with detailed requirements and multiple government forms to two-page project summaries from small associations. Our proposal manager must fully grasp the sometimes arcane requirements of government RFPs; contribute to response strategies; define proposal deliverables and see that all forms, past performance data, process figures, and staffing charts are complete; help ensure pricing is consistent with the technical solution; coordinate decision-making on which public and private sector opportunities match our capabilities; and corral the resources including senior managers, partner firms, writers, graphic designers, and administrative support and drive the process for submitting complete proposals on time. The proposal managers responsibilities include the following: Implement and own the process of developing a proposal from a go/no-go decision through outlining, assignments, management, writing, and submission. Scour RFPs for make-or-break requirements deadlines, contacts, page limits, format, attachments, notarizations, and delivery specs. Identify and communicate resource needs for proposals. Create and track schedules for writers, contributors, graphic designers, and reviewers. Identify, gather, and tailor existing copy or write new copy to respond to RFP requirements. Collaborate with our design team to create proposal graphics, charts, and tables. Review proposals to ensure that all terms and conditions are met. Oversee proposal packaging and delivery by email, overnight mail, or hand. Update and keep track of proposal language. Track and update past performance information and staff resumes, including narrative and administrative information. Maintain the proposal tracker to capture information such as proposal values, win/loss/draw, and evaluators feedback. Support capture managers by identifying and vetting opportunities, advising on the likelihood of winning, and providing competitive research. The position requires a bachelors degree and minimum of three years experience in all aspects of time and materials and fixed-price contracts. Proficiency in creating high-impact PowerPoint presentations preferred. This position demands a perfectionist with brains, initiative, total reliability, great people skills, and a good sense of humor. Youll join a fun but hard-working team, including a proposal director, a proposal coordinator, and about 140 social marketing campaign managers, video producers, graphic designers, media relations specialists, web and digital marketing experts, and writers. We offer a supportive, team-based work environment. Salary is commensurate with experience.
