Chef Manager Corporate Dining Owings Mills, MD Monday thru Friday No Nights No Weekends Benefits The ideal candidate will be self-directed and enthusiastic with strong leadership and communication skills. This highly visible position requires a person with five or more years proven experience managing a unit to budget, controlling the food and labor costs. The Chef Manager will interact daily with customers, is accountable for training, coaching and motivating the staff while providing a customer-focused experience for the guests. To succeed in this position the candidate will assume hands on responsibility for all foodservice activities including menu development, purchasing, food preparation, catering and cafe service. Additionally, the Chef Manager will be expected to keep a clean and safe work environment and follow all outlined health and safety regulations with regard to equipment use and personal hygiene. Lastly, the above shall be achieved while providing exceptional customer service in a courteous, helpful and friendly manner at all times. Qualifications Culinary degree or certificate from recognized culinary institution preferred 5-8 years of experience in banquets, catering or corporate dining. 5-8 years of culinary staff training and development background Menu implementation experience - Food Safety Certification A culinary background including knowledge of various international cuisines Communicate clearly, professionally and effectively Responsibilities Produce highest quality cooking with emphasis on current trends and international cuisines Manage ordering and inventory Organize and execute all foods for service for all meal periods Manage and train kitchen staff/delegate tasks/problem solve Create positive team environment Incorporate sustainable practices into daily activities Implement and maintain HACCP standards Keep a clean and safe work environment Computer proficiency required for ordering, inventory, cash handling and reporting.
