* Participate in planning and successfully executing corporate and departmental initiatives. * Oversee the payment services staff in the development, implementation and management of processes necessary for accurate and timely payment processing for motor vehicle contracts and in some instances commercial lending loans. * Develop, monitor and maintain internal controls to ensure corporate customer payment processing goals and procedures are followed. * Prepare and manage forecasts and budgets for areas of responsibilities. * Oversee staff workload assignments to ensure processing requirements are met, ensuring maximum productivity while maintaining quality service standards. * Manage team members by establishing annual performance goals, allocating resources, assessing annual performance, and determining individual merit, incentive and/or promotional increases. * Ensure compliance with US state and federal regulatory requirements as well as Canadian requirements related to motor vehicle retail installment loan documentation. * Identify, negotiate and manage vendor relationships; review for new partnerships, products and improvements in service. * Ensure adequate staffing, training and technological/facility needs of team members. * Develop effective relationships with other departments to better understand their operations, strategies and service expectations. REPORTING RELATIONSHIP VP Payment Services US The AVP Payment Services Suspense and Research guards the integrity of GM Financial's loan portfolio through effective management of the day-to-day operations of the Payment Services Suspense and Research teams. This team member develops and implements controls to ensure the accurate and timely receipt, processing and security of customer loan payments in compliance with Company operating procedures and adherence to state and federal regulations. This team member has contact and interaction with all levels of management and various departments across the organization as well as external customers, automobile dealerships, vendors, auditors and state agencies., Knowledge * Advanced knowledge of motor vehicle retail installment documentation in a consumer finance/banking environment. * Advanced knowledge of corporate banking, corporate finance, and related finance mediums and terminology. * Advanced knowledge of Accounts Receivable system processes including payment posting logic for simple and pre-compute loans. * Working knowledge of customer service, loan servicing and collections, systems and operating procedures. * Working knowledge of liability and physical damage insurance for automobiles. * Working knowledge of GM Financial's business segments for effective application of operational strategies. * Working knowledge of project management to implement processes and procedures and ensure operational effectiveness. Experience * 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in consumer lending industry required. Work Condition * High energy and fast-paced office environment subject to stressful situations dealing with daily deadlines, customers, branches, other departments and financial institutions. Some travel and overtime may be required. Education * Bachelor's Degree BBA Finance, Accounting or equivalent work experience preferred.
