NEBF Investments oversees the pension assets of The National Electrical Benefit Fund and The National Electrical Annuity Plan, two employee pension benefit plans established by agreement between the National Electrical Contractors Assoc. and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. POSITION TITLE: Senior Accounting Manager (SAM) REPORTS TO: Executive Director, Investments QUALIFICATIONS: . Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license in good standing. . At least 10 years of accounting and auditing experience in investments and employee benefits industry. . Strong Excel and Power Point skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and Microsoft Dynamics SL accounting software. . Strong analytical skills and attention to details. . Flexible, willing to assume varied responsibilities, able handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines. . Experience in multiemployer pension fund environment is preferred. . Strong ability to communicate, both verbally and in written form. GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: As a member of NEBF's accounting team, SAM brings greater depth and support across all investment accounting functions. May participate in a variety of accounting and reconciliation work; compiles, prepares, maintains, and reports financial data and records consistent with established policy and procedures. Reviews all accounting systems and procedures to identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement, particularly regarding more effective use of technology. Develops and supervises the implementation of new procedures where appropriate. Assists the Executive Director with investment research and monitoring of NEBF's investment program. JOB DESCRIPTION: (May perform some or all of the following) . Performs accounting functions across all aspects of NEBF's investment program, including general ledger accounting. Utilizes Microsoft Dynamics SL Accounting software. Assists in preparation of all tax and regulatory filings. Assists in maintaining subsidiary ledgers and in reconciling balances with the general ledger. Prepares journal entries and accounting corrections to ensure accurate accounting records. Assists in internal tasks in support of NEBF's external audit. . Reviews all NEBF accounting systems and procedures to confirm sufficiency of existing systems and to identify opportunities to strengthen and improve NEBF's accounting functions. Reviews use of internal technology and external resources to streamline NEBF's accounting and reporting processes. . Redesigns NEBF's investment performance reporting to better utilize custodian bank data, to improve timeliness of reports, and to reduce use of Excel spreadsheets. . Assists in the maintenance of NEBF's software and procedures for monitoring private assets investments (including private equity, private debt, real estate, and infrastructure), performance reporting, and portfolio analytics. . Assists the Executive Director, Investments on projects related to investment strategy and policy, investment manager selection, monitoring of investments and managers, research into investment topics, and reporting to the Board of Trustees. . Assists the Chief Administrative Officer with accounting, human resources, and administrative tasks as needed. . Performs other functions as assigned. Interested parties should forward their resumes.
