Job Description : Become part of our team as an in-country engineer for the KF-X effort. This program provides technical assistance to Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) to develop an advanced, multi-role fighter for the Republic of Korea Air Force. This position will be located in Sacheon, South Korea and selected candidate will deploy from their current location. Responsibilities include: The successful candidate will provide technical advice (to include training, guidance, support, and development assistance) on aircraft subsystem design, development, analysis, integration, and qualification. The candidate will provide assistance to ensure subsystem designs are integrated to maximize overall system level efficiency and functionality. Subsystems include Primary Power, Secondary Power, Electrical Wiring Integration, Environmental Control, Fuel, Hydraulics, Landing Gear and Cockpit. Tasks shall include, but not be limited to, providing subject matter expert guidance, training and mentoring to the customer for the following: Subsystem definition, design, and requirements, including performance and specification requirements Hardware and software interface control documentation developed and defined between aircraft systems System architecture trade studies System modeling and analysis approach Components definition and design requirements Installation layouts and requirements Drawing release Supplier management plans and design development source data Installation and system performance verification Lead other Lockheed Martin subsystem engineers as they assist KAI engineers in finding the best solutions to KF-X technical issues. Provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) guidance, training, and mentoring for subsystem definition, design, and requirements (including performance and specification requirements). Provide guidance on hardware and software interface control documentation to ensure that KAI's cross-functional interfaces are fully documented. Interface with senior KAI leadership to discuss technical issues and progress. Identify and investigate critical subsystem design and integration technical issues to enhance design maturity. Assist with installation layouts and requirements development. In addition to strong technical skills, the candidate should have a track record of success working in diverse groups where attention to the customer is paramount.
