We are a diverse and innovative company looking for people who are driven self starters-- committed and passionate. We have a vacancy for a Location Manager to be based in the Baltimore, MD area. The ideal candidate would be a born leader with previous warehouse/logistics experience who has demonstrated the ability to manage budgeting, reporting, workflow changes, etc. Purpose of Position: To ensure all aspects of the location from administration through operational activities are managed effectively. Ensure all aspects of the clients requirements are carried out to their satisfaction, within deadline and within legal and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities: Create and sustain good customer relationships by providing high levels of customer satisfaction. Continue to seek new business opportunities within the area and increase existing business by maintaining strong industry network (attend conferences and other relevant events). Act as point of contact for vendors, clients and other site visitors. Manage vendor relations 3PL companies, marine terminals, trucking companies, temporary-labor agencies. Manage costs within the annual budget, ensuring all suppliers provide a cost effective and quality service. Review annually the costs for the previous and upcoming year, creating opportunities for streamlining and cost effectiveness. In cooperation with the HR department to manage the recruitment of staff, manage performance and ensure attendance and other employee job expectations are managed in accordance with company policy and procedures. Compile and present monthly reports to the Senior Management team, with in-depth analysis of the location s performance. Oversee the Quality system and ensure that staff are trained. Ensure all Administration and all Operations are carried out in accordance with the Quality standard. Perform internal Quality audits as required. Oversee all operations and ensure that in close cooperation with the Operations Manager all aspects of the operation run smoothly, by understanding the short term and longer term planning of the department. Strive to improve the productivity of the team, achieve KPI s and take action in areas which require improvement. In collaboration with Health and Safety Manager, ensure requirements are met. Perform risk assessments and safety audits as required. Act as a member of the Health and Safety committee. Evaluate costs related to new safety programs. Freight Desk Management (if applicable to location). Performs other duties and special projects as needed. Job Requirements: Minimum of five (5) years experience and knowledge in warehousing operations, logistics and customer service environment. Bachelor s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of training and professional work experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work with external and internal customers on all professional levels. Strong business acumen, with effective networking skills and drive to build and maintain business relationships. Natural trainer, with the ability to present complex information to diverse audiences. Proficiency with computer and appropriate software (ie Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.) Knowledge of business and management principles involving strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources in relation to warehouse operations. Strong comprehension of materials, regulations, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective distribution of goods. Must be able to handle tight scheduling, fast-paced high volume levels of activity. Must be able to shift priorities & multi-task as needed. Ability to travel as needed. Apply Online Below
