As a Project Engineer, you will be supporting our client, a program management firm focused on both new construction and renovation projects in the District of Columbia. Job Responsibilities The primary responsibility of the Project Engineer is to act as a liaison between subcontractors, project managers and clients while overseeing the onsite construction of schools within the District of Columbia, and additional responsibilities include: Communicating daily with the project manager on site activities, issues and progress Day-to-day oversight of operations at various construction projects Scheduling subcontractors to complete project tasks on time and within budget Developing scopes of work to be completed by subcontractors Inspecting and evaluating work completed by subcontractors Day-to-day construction activities including maintaining schedules, coordinating work with internal resources and subcontractors, managing materials, evaluating change orders and interfacing with stakeholders Working with project managers to ensure that project costs, schedule and quality are maintained Preparing daily reports that identify activities completed or issues encountered Coordinating with third-party entities or regulatory agencies Performing quality control activities to ensure error-free work by contractors Periodically enter daily activity information into the Owner's project management software (Prolog) Specific qualifications for the Project Engineer role include: 3+ years of field experience as either a project engineer, assistant superintendent, assistant project manager or foreman Commercial or institutional building construction experience including understanding of design and constructability processes Ability to read and understand construction documents Knowledge of various construction disciplines, skilled trade and union agreements, cost control measures, scheduling procedures, safety regulations, quality assurance and control standards Ability to evaluate craft performance standards Comprehensive understanding and experience using Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word and Excel plus MS Project Experience utilizing project management software programs such as Prolog or Procore is preferred Benefits RealStreet offers a comprehensive benefit package which includes: Paid Time Off Paid Holidays 401(k) Retirement Plan with generous company match Medical Insurance Plan which includes prescription coverage Vision Insurance Dental Insurance Life Insurance & Long-Term Disability Build a better construction career with RealStreet.
