Responsibilities: Operates ultrasound equipment to reveal internal anatomical structures and medical conditions that can t be viewed by using x- rays. Schedules and coordinates tests, records test results, and prepares and maintains operational logs. Performs scheduling of patients for the procedures. Calibrates and maintains ultrasound equipment. Explains the imaging procedures that will be performed to the patients. Write a summary of the results and presents to the physicians. Perform patient education, healthcare provider education, scheduling, and case report forms. Suggests equipment modification and evaluates the quality of ultrasound images. Assists with developing budgets for the department. Works with the principle investigators to schedule time with the ultrasound machine. Organizes data into computerized data sets and reviews the quality and accuracy of the data. Trains new technicians on how to operate the ultrasound machine. Works with the principal investigators to prepare new research protocols. Acts as liaison between other technicians, physicians, and other staff members. Qualifications 2 years of relevant experience. Registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers. Minimum Education: Master s degree in a related field. Completion of a one-year program in Ultrasound Technology. This effort is for a bid and contingent on award.
