Manager - Employee Health Office - Full Time - Weekdays
Position Objective: TheManager of Employee Health and Wellness endeavors to promote health and safety to all employees by facilitating an Employee Health Program which includes disease prevention and treatment; following employee illnesses and injuries; conducting employee health screenings; and promoting a safe work environment. This position requires effective interpersonal and management skills in order to plan, organize, direct and control the activities, budget and personnel, both clinical and administrative, of the Emloyee Health and Wellness office. TheManager will be responsible for the worker's compensation program, occupational health regulatory issues and provide oversight for employee disease management. Plans and oversees the new hire health screens; including drug screen and health risk assessment. Ensures completeness and adherence to regulatory guidelines. Manages employee medical clinic for routine illnesses. Develops procedures and guidelines for employee use and protocols for sending employees home. Manages annual/biannual health programs as required including appropriate periodic immunizations for employees, volunteers, auxilians and Medical Staff members. Ensures maintenance of applicable records. Develop and implement an employee wellness program that utilizes employee health demographics, incorporates best practices and encourages healthy active living. Responsible for directing all components of the workers' compensation program. Maintains records of work-related incidents, reports, bills and payments to employees as required by the State Industrial Accident Board. Attends hearings to represent the hospital in front of the department of industrial accidents. Acts as a resource person for all workers compensation related questions and concerns. Actively manages all worker's compensation cases, developing plans and strategies, working with the employees and the managers to return employees to work as soon as they are able to return. Coordinates a light duty program to encourage employee engagement and recovery. Compiles, analyzes and issues statistical reports relating to employee health trends and worker's compensation. Actively works with departments incurring the most employee injuries. In conjunction with department director, develops performance improvement plans for addressing issues causing the injuries. Provides occupational health expertise to internal and external customers, in accordance with all Health System, State and Federal regulations including serving on designated committees. Educational/Experience Requirements: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or physician assistant program. (Note: Nurse Practitioner preferred) Knowledge of Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and American with Disability Act (ADA), preferred. Experience in management of worker's compensation cases required. Minimum of five years experience in occupational health required. Thorough knowledge of Joint Commission standards as they relate to employee health. Required License/Certifications: Must be currently licensed in the State of Maryland (Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant).
