Retirement Unlimited Incorporated is on a search for an Executive Director for their Alexandria, Virginia community, Paul Spring Independent, Assisted Living and Memory Care. The Executive Director is responsible for the efficient and profitable day-to-day operation of the community. They ensure that high quality resident services are provided according to Retirement Unlimited Inc. standards. Some of the duties of the Executive Director include, but are not limited to: Carries out policies and procedures effectively. Establishes and/or follows policies and procedures for move in and move out of residents, resident records, resident financial files, etc. Promotes public relations with the community (physicians, volunteers, ministers, church groups, community leaders and other referral sources). Reviews the status of residents with professional staff in order to provide maximum resident services. Ensures community compliance with all applicable regulations. Serves as community HIPAA privacy and security officer. Creates a social, emotional, and physical environment conducive to the best interest of all residents. Coordinates the training and development of other secondary administrative personnel. Ensures that the building, equipment, facilities, and other physical assets of the community are protected and maintained in good condition. Establishes and enforces appropriate safety, fire, and accident prevention programs. Must have a current license as a nursing home administrator or an assisted living facility administrator through the Virginia Board of Long-Term Care Administrators. Must have at least two years of college education. Must have one year of management experience in health care or service related industry. Must possess a track record of leadership accomplishments. Must possess the ability to understand and effectively carry out policies. Must be capable of working under minimal supervision, within well-defined parameters. Must have good judgment and the ability to make good decisions and to absorb and apply related training. Must present a neat and professional appearance. Must be able to communicate effectively in both verbal and written form. Must have strong customer service skills and be able to teach customer service skills to staff. Must be able to exert up to 25 lbs. of force, occasionally, to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
