Defense Policy Analyst, Senior

Key Role:

Provide expertise in one or more of the following areas: military doctrine development, planning, programming, budget, and execution (PPBE) analysis, readiness reporting, and manpower and personnel management, including manpower requirements determination or personnel management, including distribution and policy development analysis. Research, analyze, and document DoD policy. Assist the DoD with analyzing the designing, development, and staffing of policy and follow-on implementation efforts. Organize and facilitate meetings, conference calls, and working groups, including generating after action reports and tracking implementation of agreed-to items. Develop client-ready deliverables for a wide variety of audiences across the DoD. Write and present whitepapers and issue papers to government officials at the senior executive service, general, and flag officer level. Solve complex information requirements problems via a combination of analytic judgment and proven analytic practices. Provide work leadership to junior employees, as needed and work as an advanced consultant with capability knowledge who excels at client delivery. Take a leadership role in generating intellectual capital to help the firm grow its business. 


Basic Qualifications:

-8+ years of experience with research, analysis, and policy

-4+ years of experience with service headquarters or secretariat, Joint Staff, or the DoD

-Experience with report writing and briefing senior government leaders

-Knowledge of formal DoD staffing and coordination processes

-Active Secret clearance

-MA or MS degree
 

Additional Qualifications:

-Ability to lead complex tasks and promote teamwork through collaboration

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

-Possession of excellent interpersonal skills

-MA or MS degree in Public Administration or Public Policy
