Executive Assistant to the Deputy CIO - University Information Services

University Information Services (UIS) provides Georgetown University with the core technology resources and support services for teaching, learning, and research.

The Executive Assistant provides executive-level administrative support to the Deputy Chief Information Officer (DCIO) in duties that include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinates activities and scheduling, serving as a liaison between UIS and other University Departments, outside agencies and vendors, as well as within UIS.
  • Assists with organizing and producing briefings, presentations, web pages and other documents as necessary.
  • Coordinates and schedules meetings, training sessions, briefings, and presentations. 
  • Assists with development, implementation, management, and coordination of computing services projects.
  • Facilitates communication by taking meeting minutes. 
  • Supports other senior UIS staff on a time-available basis.
  • Supports the Vice President and CIO when his/her Executive Assistant is away or unavailable. 
  • Serves as the receptionist when the latter is away or unavailable.
  • Conducts research and produces presentations with minimal guidance.


  • Bachelor's degree
  • 2 to 4 years of experience reporting directly to senior management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and Microsoft Visio
  • Positive and service-oriented attitude
  • Good attention to detail. Must be able to keep information and other matters confidential
  • Ability to provide a confident, professional welcome to callers/visitors to UIS/OIS
  • Excellent  research and writing skills

Preferred qualifications

  • Working knowledge of Information Technology
  • Project Management skills
  • Experience with Google Office Suite (Docs, Spreadsheet, Calendar) and Google Pages
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining focus on priorities
  • Social media expertise
  • Web skills
