Financial Aid Resource Specialist
Reporting to the Manager of Financial Aid Resource Specialists (FARS), theSpecialist provides subject matter expert (SME) guidance related to financial aid through collaboration with internal and external 2U stakeholders. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Compliance Subject Matter Expert Creates and updates Financial Aid resources for multiple 2U partner programs Reviews marketing content related to financial aid, military benefits, and program financing Supports the onboarding of all student-facing 2Utes (i. e., Admissions Counselors and Student Success Advisors) with financial aid training Develops and/or updates existing financial aid training specific to school and program requirements Beyond the initial onboarding, conducts periodic financial aid training with student-facing 2Utes to ensure appropriate handling of program cost and financial aid requirements Relationship Management Serves as the liaison between Admissions, Student Success, Program Management staff, and the campus Financial Aid and Veterans Affairs office Conducts monthly meetings with Program Management, Admissions, and Student Support leadership to identify cost, funding, and financial aid challenges and trends to share with the University partner Conducts quarterly meetings with Program Management and the University partner s program and financial aid leadership to discuss trends/challenges and brainstorm innovative solutions to ultimately meet the students needs Host weekly FARS office hours to support Admissions and Student Success teams Tracks data and trends to help further relationships and build systems to share feedback and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders Internal FARS Process Improvement Projects Research and manage funding and scholarship resources to support students in all programs Identifies recurring questions/issues/challenges and conveys to management to drive continuous process improvement for the FARS function Other duties as assigned Things That Must Be in Your Background: Bachelor s degree in business, education or related area strongly preferred. 3-5 years financial aid or advising experience within a regionally accredited university. Knowledge of federal, and/or institutional rules, regulations, guidelines, and procedures for awarding financial aid. Calendar management, appointment setting, data collection and data entry skills. Experience with Microsoft Office suite. Professional business acumen. Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers Strong writing and strategic communication skills. Experience managing varied stakeholders and project oriented work. Two or more years of experience in training or public speaking in the workplace.
