Job Description PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: Psychiatric Technician Contractor Psychiatric Technician shall meet the qualifications for that specialty and perform essentially the same functions, within the scope of acceptable for their technical professional discipline and standard, as those required by military and/or government service technical professionals of similar experience and in similar duty assignments. Contractor personnel practices/productivity will be compared to that of other contractor personnel, civil servants and military assigned to the same medical center. Psychiatric Technicians must provide proof of completion or certification from an accredited, formal training program. The contractor employee shall meet education, licensing, training, and experience requirements. All documentation shall be required for review prior to start of work and records regarding licensure, certification, and life support training are to be kept up to date Must have current and maintain certification in Basic Life Support Training (BLS). SPECIFIC DUTIES/TASKS: The Contract Psychiatric Technician The Contractor employees shall perform the following procedures, as required, and in strict compliance with standing orders and protocols set forth by the MTF to include the following: Assist psychiatric registered nurse in formulating nursing actions for the patient. Escort patients to appointment. Report deviations in patient behavior to supervisor. Share patient information and reactions with treatment team. Take and record patient s vital signs and report deviations. Deliver specimens to the lab. Gather, compile and document patient data in automated data systems. Work with patients using a variety of treatment procedures in a group setting. Electronically document patient information as required. Must be able to work all rotating shifts to include weekends and holidays as this is a 24/7/365 operation.
