General Summary of Position: Provides technical support to Ophthalmologists by performing basic and specialized eye examinations on patients in the Ophthalmology Department and Eye Clinic Education : High school degree or GED diploma is required, plus training in ophthalmic technical procedures and related equipment is required. May require the use of specialized medical equipment (ie, EEG, EKG, blood analyzer), or data processing equipment (ie, tape drives, consoles). Experience : From 1 to 3 years experience required Certification/Registration/Licensure : Certification as Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) is required. Certification as an Ophthalmic Technician (COT) is preferred.
