A nurse-friendly, progressive healthcare organization is now looking for a Nurse Manager to oversee a large, hematology/oncology unit at one of their midsize acute care facilities. This hospital is part of a large, financially stable system that has been nationally recognized for clinical achievement and innovation. They have received many awards and accolades for not only their clinical achievements but their work environment as well The Oncology Nurse Manager will manage a large, 20+ bed unit that sees almost entirely hematology-oncology patients. The Nurse Manager will be responsible for the daily administrative, operational and clinical oversight of the unit, including staff supervision and assessment, performance and quality improvement, budget development, efficiency and ensuring optimal patient outcomes. The Nurse Manager Oncology will join this leadership team at a very exciting time, as the hospital is growing, including new construction, renovation and a renewed focus on bringing specialized leadership on board to focus on growing service lines, quality improvement and maintaining the high nursing and patient satisfaction that the hospital has consistently achieved. The Oncology Nurse Manager will report to the Director of Patient Care Services and oversee a large team that includes Registered Nurses, an Educator, a Charge Nurse, Assistant Manager and support personnel. This position is located in the greater Northern Virginia/Washington DC metropolitan area. It is close enough to the large cities in the region to enjoy all they have to offer but situated in a midsize community that feels like a smaller, friendly town with much less congestion.
