Responsibilities: Position Summary Reporting to the CFO and managing a team of ~8 employees, our Corporate Controller leads the Accounting function, to include delivering timely and accurate financial information as well as reporting and managing the monthly close, transaction, and general business operations processes. He/she develops, implements, and monitors our business processes including expense management, revenue recording, reconciliation and recognition, ERP implementation and other strategic initiatives and ad hoc requests as required. Primary Accountabilities Manages and improves our accounting and finance functions through efficient processes relating to accounting principles, practices and procedures Serves as subject matter expert in the accounting system and its processes by leadingthe implementation and maintenance of controls and system upgrades Leads and manages the monthly financial statement close process, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely and analyzing and reviewing financial statements and variances Reviews and performs month-end general ledger close activities including accruing expenses, preparing, reviewing and recording journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts and other analysis Prepares the monthly reporting packages including analysis of current actual results to prior period actual results to budget for internal management reporting and external reporting Reviews and analyzes system trial balances, reconciliations, entries, transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance and recommends process improvements and corrective actions, as needed Manages the treasury management function including review and reconciliation of daily deposit report and reconciliation, projecting daily cash flows, researching projection variances, analyzing interest expenses, bank account reconciliations and other related tasks Creates, manages, trains and communicates the development of best practices for accounting, analysis, budgeting and forecasting of various accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP Collaborates with stakeholders to prepare the annual operating budget and forecast Identifies trends and areas for management attention, indicators of business activity and other analysis and reporting to support management Leads and inspires growth and development of staff Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; MBA or active CPA required 10 years' progressive experience in accounting, financial reporting or related field; 7+ years in leadership role Success Factors Demonstrated commitment to process improvement, innovation and general excellence GAAP expertise; solid internal accounting controls acumen along with substantive knowledge of accounting systems and technology Demonstrated analytical and complex problem-solving skills Expert-level Microsoft analytical tools knowledgebase, including advanced Excel skills e. g.
