Experience: One (1) year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service, performing duties such as:
- Coordinating and monitoring a variety of administrative projects (e.g., budget, personnel, space logistics);
- Identifying and recommending solutions to a wide range of administrative problems;
- Analyzing administrative data from a variety of sources to develop trends, patterns, profiles, estimates, and studies;
- Preparing preliminary and finished reports and documents; and
- Representing the office in dealings with vendors and personnel from administrative support organizations.
Education: You may substitute a doctoral degree or three (3) full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, such as L.L.M/PhD. in a qualifying field for experience at the GS-11 grade level. This education must have been obtained from an accredited college or university and demonstrate the skills necessary to do the work of the position. (A course of study in business administration, public administration, and related fields is qualifying.) Check with your school or university to determine how many credit hours comprise three (3) years of graduate education. If that information is not available, use 54 semester and 81 quarter hours.
Combination of Education and Experience: Appropriate combinations of successfully completed graduate education and experience also may be used to meet the total qualification requirements for the GS-11 grade level.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
