Job Description: Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge, VA is recruiting for a part time Health Record and Information Tech to work in our Medical Records Department day shift. This will include rotating weekends.

Department/Position Overview: This part time (20 hours per week) day shift position will join the team in our busy Health Information Management Department where responsibilities will include responsibility for preparing all documents for precision scanning into the electronic medical record with strict attention to maintain patient confidentiality guidelines for safeguarding patient medical information. Required to work within many different computer environments in order to track, scan, identify, validate and access medical records. We are seeking a candidate who is a high school graduate or equivalent and has a minimum of 1 year working in Medical Records. We prefer a candidate who is a student/graduate of an approved Health Information Technology/Management training program with knowledge of medical terminology and who has worked with electronic medical records system.

Prefer student/graduate of an approved Health Information Technology/Management training program. Knowledge of general medical terminology. Experience preferred working within different windows in a computer environment and ability to work in duplicate systems during periods of implementation. Ability to multi task in a rapidly changing environment and prioritize tasks/functions. Work individually and in a team environment. Have organizational skills, eye-hand coordination, strong attention to detail, able to problem solve and meet process document standards as established.
