Leonardo DRS is seeking an exceptionally qualified and proven Human Factors Engineer to join our recognized team of experts to provide a solution for the US Air Forces T-X program. Leonardo DRS ties together an exceptional T-100 Integrated Training Systems Team (ITS) comprised of Leonardo Aircrafts world-class aircraft powered by Honeywell engines integrated with state-of the-art ground-based training from CAE USA. The T-100 Air Vehicle is purpose-built for a wide range of training capabilities, long-term reliability, and cost effective operations. These characteristics along with its proven integrated training system comprised of Simulators and Ground Based Training devices make the T-100 the best solution to train todays next generation of fighter pilots. Job Location: Arlington, VA Job Title: Human Factors Engineer Duties and Responsibilities: Provides technical management of all human engineering design for the T-100 ITS program including cockpit layout, anthrometrics and crew accommodation, and crew escape. Reviews customer Human Engineering requirements and specifications. Solves technical problems and provides effective solutions to maintain the program schedule. Prepares and presents plans, status updates, and briefings to the Air Vehicle IPT lead and to customer counterparts on cockpit layout, anthropometrics, crew accommodations, and crew escape. Participates in relevant working groups and technical interchange meetings including the cockpit working group, human systems integration working group, and anthropometric evaluation technical interchange meetings. The ability to solve complex technical problems and provide effective and innovative solutions, while meeting cost and schedule constraints. Develop and manage the Human Systems Integration Program Plan and the Human Engineering Program Plan. Basic Qualifications: Masters degree in engineering or related technical field with a minimum of 7-10 years combined experience in aerospace engineering and military or commercial crew station design. Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience in engineering requirements management to include development, derivation, validation and verification of human engineering and crew station requirements. Anthropometrics test planning, execution, data gathering, and reporting. Broad experience with airframe design, development, integration, and test programs. Working knowledge of MIL-STD-46855 and MIL-HDBK-743. Experience in International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR). Excellent written and verbal communications skills to include briefings and presentations to senior leadership and customers. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate and work effectively at all organization levels. Willingness and ability to travel, domestically and internationally Must possess a current active Secret Clearance or above.
