The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for directing all fiscal functions in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles issued by the Financial Accounting Standards Board, other regulatory and advisory organizations and in accordance with financial management techniques. The primary duties and responsibilities of the CFO include, but are not limited to: Planning, implementing, and evaluating domestic and overseas fiscal operations. Developing and enforcing corporate financial policies and procedures. Providing timely and accurate budget analysis and financial reports. Developing and maintaining automated systems to ensure financial data integrity and operational effectiveness. Leading and developing financial operations staff. Continually improving the budgeting process, including through effective communication with managers on financial issues impacting their budgets. Optimizing international and domestic financial management operations, including banking. Maintaining reliable cash flow projection and reporting mechanism, including establishing minimums to meet operating needs overseas. Producing auditable financial statements; working with external auditors and financial institutions. Ensuring corporate compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and international laws and requirements affecting financial operations. Candidates are required to have: An MBA or CPA with at least 10 years of financial management experience. Experience within a nonprofit organization or the federal government. Strong analytical skills and track record in improving and automating financial processes and procedures. Self-motivation, creativity, and high ethical standards. Sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment and strong operational focus. Strong communications and relationship management skills and ability to thrive in a diverse environment. Ability to communicate effectively (orally and in writing) with individuals at all levels. Proven leadership and management skills, demonstrated effectiveness in accomplishing work by delegating as well as personal contribution and ability to coach and develop a professional team.
