  • You qualify at the GS-05 level, if you meet one of the following qualification requirements:

    One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service that demonstrates your ability to process, assemble, decontaminate, clean, prepare, sterilize, store and issue sterile and unsterile medical supplies and equipment; use, maintain and repair washer-sterilizers, ultrasonic instrument cleaners, and gas and steam sterilizers; and inventory and replenish medical supplies.

    OR

    Completion of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited or pre-accredited college or university in a related field.

    OR

    A combination of education and specialized experience that meets the qualification requirements for this position.

    You qualify at the GS-06 level, if you meet one of the following qualification requirements:

    One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service that demonstrates your ability to process, assemble, decontaminate, clean, prepare, sterilize, store and issue sterile and unsterile medical supplies and equipment; use, maintain and repair washer-sterilizers, ultrasonic instrument cleaners, and gas and steam sterilizers; disassemble and inspect for damage reusable medical supplies, instruments, and equipment; and use personal protective equipment (PPE) to clean medical equipment.


    OR

    Completion of One full year of graduate education directly related to the work of the position.

    OR

    A combination of education and specialized experience that meets the qualification requirements for this position.


    You qualify at the GS-07 level, if you meet one of the following qualification requirements:

    One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service that demonstrates your ability to process, assemble, decontaminate, clean, prepare, sterilize, store and issue sterile and unsterile medical supplies and equipment; decontaminate reusable medical supplies and equipment; use aseptic and sterilization techniques on medical equipment and instruments; compare medical equipment control test results after sterilization period to ensure correct parameters were obtained; test medical equipment to determine if it is operating correctly after having been cleaned and reassembled; and examine sterilized trays, sets, packs, and equipment from the sterilizer to ensure adherence to organizational manufacturing quality control procedures.

    Completion of One full year of graduate education directly related to the work of the position.

    A combination of education and specialized experience that meets the qualification requirements for this position.
