Management Analyst I
Note: This position will be located at the Pennino Building, 12011 Government Center Parkway, Fairfax, Virginia. However, it will support the work of two regional offices: Region 2 and Region 3.
Performs analytical and technical work to assist with research, data management, and analysis in support of the Regional Services and Center Operations Division. Employs a variety of technical skills to collect, monitor, and report on data used to measure effectiveness of regional community development activities, programs and initiatives. Collects, analyzes and reports on data to support place-based initiatives and projects. Develops community profiles to inform regional work, and builds, develops, and maintains tools to assist regional leadership and community development staff in their community outreach and engagement work. Provides administrative and technical business area support to staff, management, and regional leadership.
Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to the following: graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in a business administration, public administration, statistics or field related to the assigned functional area such as human resources, budgeting and financial management, or contract administration and business management.
BRIDGE CLASS EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS:
Four years of increasingly complex technical experience in the assigned functional area, comparable to experience at the Admin Assistant IV, or higher, level.
This class can serve as a bridge class enabling individuals who do not meet the educational or professional experience standards listed above to qualify for this class by possessing four years of increasingly complex technical experience in the assigned functional area, comparable to experience at the Admin Assistant IV, or higher, level.
The purpose of this bridge class is to promote upward mobility within the Fairfax County workforce. However persons qualifying for this class on the basis of their technical experience may not substitute this technical experience for education, or for professional experience, in order to qualify for other employment opportunities.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
- Valid driver's license.
- Eligibility to drive a county vehicle.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- The appointee to this position must complete a criminal background check, check of the Child Protective Services Registry and driving record check to the satisfaction of the employer.
- Experience conducting best practice research, analyzing data, and presenting findings.
- Experience using computer software to collect, monitor, and report on data.
- Experience developing community profiles to inform community development efforts.
- Experience developing and monitoring performance measures.
- Experience developing customized data reports utilizing software for evaluation and decision making.
- Experience monitoring and reporting on business processes, activities and outcomes.
Primary work is sedentary in an office setting. Requires ability to operate keyboard driven equipment and ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Duties may be performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
