Garrison & Sisson has been exclusively engaged to assist this AmLaw 100 Firm recognized for its transactional and international practices in just its second time hire of a designated National Security associate. (While numerous partners and associates divide their practices between National Security and a related practice area, this position exclusively will be devoted to National Security matters which, while multi-disciplinary in scope, provides significant upward mobility potential.) The mix of substantive work includes export controls, sanctions, OFAC and CFIUS matters. The demand by firm clients for National Security assistance is growing, and the firm has made a decision to hire one, and possible two, additional associates with three to five years of relevant experience. In addition, the firm practices succession planning, and with the anticipated retirement in the next five years of one of the practice group's co-heads, it wants to be positioned to have senior associates in place who will be able to grow into partnership roles within the firm. You will have the opportunity to work directly with the practice group heads and with the senior associates in the department, all of whom are based in the firm's Washington office. You will be working with some of the firm's most significant clients on matters that provide exposure to other partners and practice groups throughout this global firm.
