Seeking a full-time research fellow to work in AEI’s foreign policy department, contributing to the Institute’s study of Latin American politics, economic development, and transnational crime. 

Research will focus on the impact of transnational organized crime, populism, and narco corruption on economic growth and prosperity. Responsibilities include primary Spanish language research and analysis of political, economic, and security conditions in the Americas. Research will also include ways in which inter-American partnerships can be used to promote democracy and the rule of law, antidrug cooperation, and regional trade. 

The ideal candidate would have experience in political science with demonstrated expertise in Latin America, notably Venezuela, Colombia, Mexico, Cuba, and Central America. Previous experience in government or think tank is preferred, and fluency in Spanish is essential.
