Printing and Reprographics Specialist (Printing)

The United States Senate Sergeant at Arms is seeking a qualified Printing and Reprographics Specialist within the Printing section of Printing, Graphics and Direct Mail.  The hours of work are 12:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. in the Landover Print facility.

Function:

The United States Senate Sergeant at Arms, Printing, Graphics and Direct Mail provides Senate offices a full range of offset and digital printing services that offer unique, custom and professional products, which supports the Senate day-to-day operations.  The service provides printed products, such as collateral material, business cards, flyers, spiral bond booklets, books, magazines, multipage brochures, postcards, and personalized mailers (Newsletters and Town Meeting notices). Services also provide include, but not limited to, variable printing, manual prints, and full-color two-sided printing at high production rates.  

Offset and Digital Equipment:

Candidate should be able to operate the following equipment or similar, specifically related to bindery and finishing of printed material:

•    AB Dick 9810 Press                               

•    Ryobi 3200 CD and Ryobi 3302M 2 Color Presses                        

•    Komori 420 4 Color and Komori 428P 4 Color Presses                        

•    Komori 828P 8 Color Press

•    Risograph RZ990 and PS7R-5000 U Digital Printing Systems

•    Xerox Docutech 1000 Photocopier

•    Therm-O-Type 13000

•    Nela Ternes printing plate punch

•    Acento II S Platesetter                          

Skill Set and Experience:

Candidates should be mechanically inclined and able to maintain, operate and repair offset and digital printing equipment, as well as possessing knowledge of current printing technology. Candidates should be able to work independently, while meeting production deadlines within a high volume production environment. Candidates should have a minimum of 3-5 years’ of experience as a journeyman within the offset printing industry.
