To qualify for the GS-13: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at, or equivalent to, the GS-12 grade level. This experience is typically found within a field that is closely related. Specialized experience for this position is experience utilizing established historical research methods and techniques, to include collection, evaluation, and analysis of historical facts; experience writing substantial narrative bureau histories or historical accounts of bureau operations; collecting, organizing and interrelating large amounts of historical data drawn from a wide variety of sources; experience with historical research projects; preparing historical reports and other written communication; experience planning and managing the overall storage plan for the historical documentation and historical artifacts, and experience with oral communication with respect to historical documents and artifacts.
Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP). The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies. The basic requirement are:
Successful completion of a Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in history; or related field that included at least 18 semester hours in history Or combination and experience: courses equivalent to a major in history, or a major in a related field that included at least 18 semester hours in history plus appropriate experience.
Unofficial or transcripts must be provided to support education requirements.
