Statistician for American Institutes for Research (AIR) to work at Washington DC loc. Coord activities of instits, subcontractors, & consultants to mng complex projects. Literature review, research design, interpret results. Design data display & present results (psychometric & stat methods & findings) tailored to tech & non-tech audiences. Mng schedule & budgets. Dev data analysis plans & programs. Collaborate. Lead research proposals& funding applics. Write sci. & tech reports & manuscripts. Stat analyses, incl of large-scale data sets. Do tech reviews, incl of draft products (reports, data files, web sites, etc) to ensure stat standards. Assist w/ other dvlpmnt activities incl prep capability statements & research opps. Use rel psychometric & stat software. Little domestic travel may be involved. May undergo background checks. Requires communication skills. Must have a Masters in Quantitative Psych, Sociology, Biostats, Applied Stats or rel field, and 3 yrs relevant exp in education statistical research to include required skills; or a PhD in Quantitative Psych, Sociology, Biostats, Applied Stats or rel field, and required skills. Requires skills (2 yrs exp) in: SAS, R, and MPlus programming; stat software (SAS, STATA, R, PARSCALE, BILOG, MULTILOG, MPLUS, LISREL); classical and modern (IRT, Rausch) psychometrics; multivariate stat analysis, and research designs, of observational, experimental, and quasi-exprimntl data; and lead.
