IT Business Solutions Developer
The American Chemistry Council (ACC), a national trade association representing the world’s leading chemical and plastics manufacturers, currently has an opportunity for Business Solutions Developer for its Information and Technology Department. ACC represents its members on public policy issues; coordinates the industry’s research and testing programs; and administers Responsible Care®, the industry’s environment, health, safety and security performance improvement initiative.
The position is responsible for supporting the unique business needs and objectives of departments/divisions within the ACC through the translation of articulated business requirements into robust technology solutions. The position manages all phases of software/solution development, including research, design, development, testing, deployment, and support. The position is further responsible for assisting in the maintenance of existing applications, including recommending improvements to software functionality, performance and processes. The position reports directly to the Senior Director, Information Technology.
Required qualifications include Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related field, at least ten years’ experience with software development and design, demonstrated skills in various programming languages (e.g., C#, .NET, HTML5) and development environments (e.g., Visual Studio and Subversion), as well as demonstrated capabilities in promoting process improvement; software design, development, and documentation processes; business process documentation; software requirements; Microsoft Office/SQL/Server/Dynamics GP/CRM/SharePoint. The ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and devise solutions to complex problems, as well as manage multiple projects with competing tasks/priorities, strong working knowledge of network design, system design, web services, security, and data communication and the ability to build consensus, work in a team environment, and coordinate across groups within a large organization are a must.
