Job Description: Sentara Careplex Hospital is currently seeking Registered Nurse applicants for our Patient Care Services Manager opening in the Pain Management department.

Shift Details: This position is full-time, day shift.

Requirements for Consideration:
We are seeking RN applicants that have a minimum of 3 years healthcare management and clinical practice. Must have a BSN; BLS will be required within 90 days of hire date. Please note, applicants that do not have a BSN and management experience will not, be considered.
Sentara Pain Management Specialist
Sentara Pain Management Specialists, quality doctors and physical therapists within Sentara, employ an interdisciplinary approach to easing the suffering and improving the quality to life of patients living with pain.These extensively trained healthcare professionals treat patients suffering from a wide variety of acute and chronic pain problems such as back pain, sciatica, spinal stenosis, herniated discs, shingles, post-herpetic neuralgia and reflex sympathetic dystrophy. Collaboration with the physicians and therapists, as well as with outside specialists, ensures treatment plans that are carefully design to the individual needs of each patient, with the overall goal to facilitate reduction of pain, educate the patient and improve function and quality of life.

Responsible and accountable for the daily operations of one or more clinical areas. Models and leads professional practices consistent with organizational goals of safety, customer satisfaction and quality for the area of expertise. Supervises staff, provides clinical/ technical expertise and engages in process improvements. Assists in the fiscal budgeting and management process for the department including billing/revenue management, payroll, purchasing and supply cost management. Performs work assignments as needed to provide coverage and to mentor or assist staff. Interviews, hires and develops team members with the goal of developing a highly effective work team. Engages in talent retention strategies for the area(s) of responsibility.

Education Level
Bachelor's Level Degree - NURSING

Required: Clinical Practice - 3 years, Healthcare Management - 3 years

Preferred: None, unless noted in the “Other” section below

Required: Registered Nurse

Preferred: Basic Life Support

Required: Critical Thinking, Judgment and Decision Making, Mgmt of Material Resources, Mgmt of Staff Resources, Microsoft Office, Speaking, Writing

Strong clinical care knowledge base in area of expertise. BLS required within 90 days
