Job Description: Sentara Healthcare's Information Technology Dept is seeking an experienced Sr Business System Analyst for our Sentara Independence location.

This position is responsible for support, enhancement and implementation software applications used within the organization. Oversees and directs intermediate scale projects or components of large scale projects; develops project plans and timelines and coordination of project resources. Incumbent will identify opportunities to leverage technologies in areas that improve and enhance the business practices by designing and implementing application/product enhancements. Works with and is a liaison to customers and end-users, appropriate IT personnel and software vendors on a regular basis to align technology functionality to operational processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate new technology and/or existing product capabilities or enhancements in a collaborative fashion with stakeholders to resolve business issues.
  • Assist with all phases of project implementation including scope definition, requirements definition and documentation, priority setting, validation of development efforts to ensure requirements are being met, testing, training and other implementation activities. Develop project plans, business work flows, use-case scenarios, test procedures, and education documentation as needed.
  • Assist with application of product upgrades, enhancements, fixes and patches as needed to include learning new features, communication of benefits to users, table maintenance, development of testing and educational material, and coordination of testing activities.
  • Define, evaluate, document and test system integration requirements as appropriate.
  • Facilitate resolution of production problems. Serve as liaison between stakeholders, software support vendors, and development teams to help resolve system issues and inefficiencies.
  • Document and evaluate system change requests. Communicate requirements to development teams, monitor and communicate progress, and facilitate system testing as needed.
  • Assess information needs and develop or facilitate appropriate reporting to meet these needs.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in systems requirement definition, project management and implementation, problem solving and analysis, and report development.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience with PeopleSoft HCM 9.x or PeopleSoft ELM 9.x is desirable; experience with both is highly desirable.
  • Human Resources or Finance operations experience in a management, professional or analytical role as well as experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.
  • A BS degree in Business, Computer Science or a related field from an accredited university or college and/or comparable work experience is required. Advanced education or a related professional certification is preferred.
  • Experience with web application support including Intranet and Internet-based solutions.
