Job Description: Sentara Lifecare, the long term care division of Sentara Healthcare is currently seeking Nursing Assistants (NA), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA), Home Health Aides (HHA), and Restorative Aides for our Sentara Life Care Facilities in Hampton Roads.

Current Openings:

Nursing Assistant (NA) - Provide basic patient care under direction of nursing staff. Perform duties such as feed, bath, dress, groom, or move patients, or change linens. May transfer or transport patients.

One of the following is required:
    Nursing Assistant Certificate or Graduation from a Virginia Board of Nursing-approved educational curriculum from a Virginia Board of Nursing, geriatric assistant or home health aide, a personal care aide training program approved by the Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services, a department-approved educational curriculum for nursing assistant, geriatric assistant or home health aide. The curriculum is provided by a hospital, nursing facility, or educational institution not approved by the Virginia Board of Nursing, e.g., out-of-state curriculum.Successful completion of the State approved 40 hour direct care staff training provided by a licensed health care professional acting within the scope of the requirements of their profession.

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Performs basic and routine patient care, such as personal hygiene, toileting, meal preparation and feeding, checks vital signs, intake/output, ambulation and assists patient with transfer from/to bed, toilet and other areas of the resident facility.

REQUIRED - HS Diploma/GED or graduate from a state approved Nursing Assistant Program/Trade School required. State CNA certification required within 120 days of hire. PACE specific incumbents for this position require a minimum of one year of experience working with the frail or elderly population.

Home Health Aide (HHA) - Performs basic and routine patient care, such as personal hygiene, toileting, meal preparation and feeding, checks vital signs, intake/output, ambulation and assists patient with transfer from/to bed, toilet and other areas of the home.

REQUIRED- Nurse Aide License and/or Nurse Aide Certificate
REQUIRED- PACE specific incumbents for this position require a minimum of one year of experience working with the frail or elderly population.

Restorative Aide- Responsible for providing quality nursing care to the residents and work alongside registered nurses as well as occupational and physical therapists, setting up necessary supplies and cleaning equipment. Responsible for providing restorative and rehabilitation care for residents to maintain or regain physical, mental and emotional well-being.

REQUIRED- HS Diploma or Equivalent
REQUIRED- Nurse Aide License
REQUIRED- At least 2 years of Geriatric Nursing. Must be able to perform in a sometime stressful environment and display a positive attitude and professional conduct when dealing with others.
